Adobe Analytic Challenge 2022
Participant
Member of Project Money
Participated in a business competition hosted by Adobe in partnership with a different sponsor each year. Each year’s sponsor provides a raw dataset along with a list of business questions to be answered, wherein participating university students, in their respective teams and faculty advisors, use Adobe’s Customer Journey Analytics platform to produce powerful insights on the given data in the form of a business presentation to be submitted 2 weeks following orientation, which doubles as a training session on navigating the Customer Journey Analytics platform. 2022’s partner was none other than Hilton Hotels, where students were required to make provide insights and recommendations from the provided data.
Participated with another QMSS student under the guidance of Professor Gregory M. Erich.
UOB SIMGE Student Liaison Committee
Chairperson
Student Representative of BMIP
For the duration of my bachelor's degree, I was both the Chairperson of the Student Liaison Committee and the Student Rep of my respective major, which was Business Management with Industrial Placement (BMIP).
As a Chairperson, I led and navigated our committee meetings and as a representative, I liaised with both the UOB's and SIMGE's administrative bodies on behalf of the BMIP student body, with regards to a spectrum of issues, inclusive of information portals, assignment extensions and respective module, dissertation and industrial placement advice.
SIMGE Public Sector Career Chaptor
Executive Committee
Secretary
During my final year, from 2019 to 2020, I was the Secretary of SIMGE's Public Sector Career Chapter (PSCC), a student initiative by the SIMGE Career Development Office, meant to connect students with entities, inclusive of the government, non-profit enterprises and NGOs, within the public sector in Singapore.
One notable event that we had conceptualised and executed was the Home Team Career Fair, wherein representatives from the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF), Singapore Prison Service (SPS), Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and Singapore Police Force (SPF) were invited for an information session and dialogue with prospective hires for meaningful networking and exchange.
UOB SIMGE Student Council
Sub-committee
Admin Department
Along with being a student rep, I was also a Sub-committee member of the Student Council of UOB SIMGE (UOBSC) from the Admin Department. As a Sub-committee Admin member, I had participated in various events, inclusive of UOB's Wellness Days and the Freshman Orientation Camp, in an administrative capacity, which involved headcount registration and after-event feedback consolidation and management.
SIMGE
Member
Student Ambassador
As a Student Ambassador of SIMGE, I had hosted campus tours for prospective students and parents from both Singapore and overseas, and facilitated in the institute's both on-site and off-site career fairs and open houses, as well as participated in off-site marketing outreaches. In fact, the photo adjacent was taken during an outreach to Singapore's St. Patrick's School, a government-aided Lasallian Catholic boys' secondary school, where an information booth was set up to be easily approachable by students to explore a career in business, along how SIMGE could help facilitate that journey.
Causes for Animals Singapore (CAS)
Animal Shelter
Volunteer
Volunteering at the CAS animal shelter was easily the most physically taxing out of all volitional activities I had pursued during university. Taking the initiative to search up shelters and registering to volunteer was done as much out of love for canines, as it was out of missing my own Labrador back home.
With nearly 2-hrs spent on commute to the outskirts of Singapore, then the next 2-hrs spent scrubbing up kennels and cleaning potty areas, it was worth finding the furries slowly trust me enough to let me bath them.
iCare
Extracurricular (CCA)
Member
iCare is one of SIMGE's extracurricular special interests clubs that specializes in providing volunteer social services, in coordination with a multitude of third-party entities. Such activities include tending to differently-abled people, as well as accompanying residents of old folks' homes.
The photo adjacent was taken at HCA Hospice Care (HCA), a registered charity in Singapore providing comfort and support for patients with life-limiting illnesses, regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, nationality and financial status. We accompanied the patients residing at HCA and celebrated the Chinese New Years with a series of crafts and games, such as making lanterns out of red envelopes and bingo.
